LineX Spray on bedliner for rocker panels

The rocker panels on my black Silverado are chipped, wish to be repainted. I also notice that except I placed on running boards or mud flaps this downside will proceed.

Has somebody used LineX mattress liner for this purpose?

How a lot was once it?

Did it paintings/glance OK?

Thanks!

You can do it yourself for $A hundred or less. Depending upon how wild you need to go.

Brush/Roll/Dab on utility. Two coats is best possible. When you could have finished, what you wish to have to coat, simply start once more. Should be dry enough to dab on somewhat extra.

Do Not let dry earlier than casting off the overlaying! Take it off, if you end up accomplished, or it will become a permanent fixture of the truck.

Herculiner is improbable for trailer tongues too. No extra rock chips.

Hire indy 500, he'll get it completed. Is it chipping on account of rust? Then use por-15.http://www.por15.com/ 07-07-2012, 12:04 AM #6

My fire division used the Rhino Lining on one in all our brush trucks, it has held up neatly but consider this is not a daily driving force. The only issues I have noticed with it, is its starting to fade, and this truck is inside of 99% of the time. But there is not problem with rust any place at the bottom of the truck. We even have the mattress lined and no problems there either. I've noticed other brush truck that the beds will rust out b/c the tank/ pump skid units are trapping water within the mattress space. 07-07-2012, 08:09 AM #7

At my shop we use a product referred to as sks. Its made by means of wurth . The older porshes and bmws has this sprayed on there rocker panels. Its a textured chip guard . when you spray it this can be a red colour and dries a dismal black. Go to your native body shop and get a estimate . I'd wager A hundred bucks according to side can be shut. Its a exellent product. Less dear than bedliner. 07-07-2012, 03:Fifty three PM #8

Here she is boys. Just put a new upper ball joint at the driver side this night and the motive force aspect cv axle. If GM would've simply put bolts at the ball joints it could be an hour long activity and now not 3 hours... Already replaced the passenger aspect cv axle and the sway bar, end links, and bushings. Replaced door handles inside and out, door hardware (bushings and is derived), and a new radiator. Still to do for mechanical stuff is passenger side upper ball joint and shifter carble. All the other stuff I've performed to it is purely cosmetic/accessories. BTW hope I didn't hijack ur thread dcsnomo... Oh yeah, I'm installing 1.5" blocks on Thursday and a slight T-Bar crank. The excessive rust would not be from the line-x, that implies it was simply on its means out. 99-06 rockers have been in point of fact thin and will rust out REALLY fast. The 88-98 also rust pretty unhealthy, however they do it more over time... 07-12-2012, 01:35 PM #15

Back in the late 80s and early 90s bmws and porches had this product sprayed at the decrease rockers . You can paint this product if you need . If your truck is black i wouldnt hassle . 07-13-2012, 12:17 AM #17
